Callmy Alert launches new platform to support continued growth and innovation

Tech GrowthA stronger, more secure and scalable platform for emergency communications, personal safety and business continuity

Callmy is pleased to announce the release of a new generation of the Callmy Alert Mass Notification Service, representing a significant step forward in the development of the platform.

The new platform has been driven by the continued expansion of Callmy and the needs of our growing customer base. As organisations increasingly rely on Callmy Alert to communicate during emergencies, protect people and support business continuity, we have invested in the underlying platform to provide greater capacity, enhanced security and a stronger foundation for continued innovation.

Customers are already being migrated to the new platform, with early feedback being extremely positive.

More capability. Greater security. More scope to innovate.

The new Callmy Alert platform introduces a range of new and enhanced features designed to make emergency communications more effective, provide administrators with greater visibility and control, and further strengthen personal safety and lone-working capabilities.

Among the key enhancements are:

Enhanced Desktop Public Address

The Callmy Desktop Alerter now includes the ability to read text in messages aloud through an end user’s PC speakers. This provides organisations with an additional way of communicating urgent information, using existing desktop infrastructure, whilst reducing the investment required by traditional Public Address systems.

Two-way SMS messaging

Callmy Alert can now provide two-way SMS communication, allowing recipients to respond directly to messages. Administrators can view delivery status, acknowledgements and incoming responses, providing valuable real-time feedback during an incident — without requiring end users to install an app.

This is particularly valuable for large organisations where achieving widespread app adoption can be challenging, especially in BYOD environments.

Enhanced security and authentication

Multi-factor authentication has been enhanced to support customer-preferred authenticator applications. Service Administrators can also enforce MFA for Group Administrators, strengthening security across delegated administration.

Greater control and visibility

The new Audit Log gives Organisational Administrators greater visibility of changes made to the service, including who made a change and when. Results can be filtered and exported, providing an important record for governance, assurance and incident review.

The enhanced Users view also provides greater visibility of registered devices, device types, last active times, notification settings and out-of-office status.

Improved integration with Microsoft Entra

Customers using Microsoft Entra Active Directory integration can now manually trigger synchronisation of users and groups through the new Synchronise Now capability, providing greater control over administration and ensuring changes can be reflected when required.

Enhanced personal safety and lone working

The new platform also delivers improvements to Callmy’s personal safety and lone-working services.

The SOS and Location Monitor has been enhanced to provide faster loading of user information and more precise GPS coordinates for active SOS alerts.

A new Safety Configuration area brings personal safety and lone-working configuration together, while enhanced check-in functionality provides greater flexibility around policies, frequency and response periods. A new configurable “grace” period provides users with appropriate time to respond before an alert is escalated to the response team.

Administrators can also configure and, where required, lock message defaults for critical functions, ensuring that important alert settings cannot be unintentionally overridden when an emergency message is sent.

Supporting compliance and auditable emergency communications

Effective emergency communication is increasingly an important part of an organisation’s approach to safety, security and regulatory compliance.

The new Callmy Alert platform provides greater administrative visibility, auditability and control, helping organisations demonstrate that their emergency communication arrangements are properly managed and that appropriate records are available for review.

This is particularly relevant as organisations prepare for the requirements associated with Martyn’s Law and the wider need to demonstrate effective preparedness, communication and response arrangements.

Callmy Alert can form an important part of an organisation’s wider approach to emergency preparedness by providing a resilient mechanism for communicating with people quickly and providing an auditable record of activity.

Built for continued growth

Perhaps most importantly, the new platform is designed not just to meet today’s requirements, but to support the continued growth and development of Callmy Alert.

Its underlying architecture provides improved scalability, maintainability and extensibility, making it easier to integrate with third-party applications and allowing new features and capabilities to be developed and deployed more quickly.

This gives Callmy greater scope to respond to changing customer requirements and continue investing in innovation across mass notification, emergency communications, personal safety, lone working and business continuity.

A platform designed for what comes next

The release of the new Callmy Alert platform marks an important milestone for Callmy and our customers.

Continued customer growth has enabled us to invest in the technology behind the service, and that investment is now providing customers with greater functionality, improved security and enhanced administrative control, while creating a stronger foundation for the next generation of Callmy innovation.

Customers are currently being migrated to the new platform, and the initial response has been very positive.

As Callmy continues to grow, we remain focused on one objective: making it simpler and more effective for organisations to communicate, protect their people and respond when it matters most.
